Juliet's Story

Why she became a sleep consultant

As a behavior analyst, my area of expertise focuses on the whole child and her environment, including motivating operations such as sleep deprivation that can influence behavior. Learning how sleep impacts behavior is fascinating to me. Identifying effective treatment that helps a child thrive is life-changing.

As my life changed—bringing two children of my own into the world and adopting my sweet girl from birth, I began focusing my practice on what drives the sleep that impacts behavior, with the goal of applying the behavioral strategies known to help older children while understanding when and how those strategies should be used with newborns and young children.

And, of course, my own children became some of my greatest teachers. Each had their own unique sleep needs, teaching me that what works beautifully for one child isn’t necessarily the answer for another—even within the same family.

I studied the science of sleep under sleep experts Dr. Erin Flynn-Evans and Meg Casano as part of the Baby Sleep Science team, and a few years later, I joined the Huckleberry team.

I love helping families sleep because sleep impacts so much. It affects behavior, development, mood, relationships, and the overall well-being of the entire family. One of my favorite things I’ve learned from studying the science of sleep is just how rapidly reasonable sleep expectations change during the first few years of life.

"Knowing what to expect—and, perhaps just as importantly, what not to expect—can be incredibly impactful for parents."

My goal is to help families understand the science behind their child’s sleep, set developmentally appropriate expectations, and feel confident navigating each stage of development as they work toward achieving their child’s sleep goals.
